Flu Shot Bail Out

If you haven’t gotten your Christmas presents yet, how about giving the gift of a flu shot? It’s not too late to get your flu vaccine. Flu season in Montana usually peaks in late February and continuous until April.

The Hill County Health Department is offering a five-dollar discount on flu shots from December 22nd to January 16th. The health department says the number of flu cases  can increase during the holidays, so they’re encouraging everyone (ages 6 months and older) to get their flu shots.

It’s important to get the flu shot every year because the flu virus changes every year. The flu is highly contagious an can be dangerous, even for those who are healthy and active. Remember, you can’t get the flu from the flu shot. It’safe! The flu shot is made of killed flu virus. So remember to use reason this season and get your flu shot.

Also a good reason to taking the vaccine is to prevent passing it on to friends and family who might be more vulnerable to being seriously affected by the illness.  Contact the Hill County Health Department at 265-5481 ext.266. Immunization hours are Monday & Wednesday 1:00pm-4:45pm and Friday 8:30-11:45 & 1:00-4:45.
