is Public Health?
It is government’s effort to protect everyone’s health and
well-being!
The Hill County Health Department (HCHD) has the challenge of
meeting the health needs of the community. HCHD helps families
to increase their life expectancy, and improve their quality of
life, by working with families to take care of themselves.

Services offered include, but are not limited to:
- Disease and injury prevention through education and immunization clinics.
- Health monitoring and tracking of health trends and potential threats to community.
- Health promotion through educational materials and wellness screenings.
- Emergency preparedness and response for disasters, including those related to homeland security (such as a biological or chemical terrorist attack).
- Links to health care access
- Family Planning Program
- Health Services for inmates at the Hill County Detention Center
- School Health and Child Care Immunization consultations
- Confidential HIV/AIDS testing and counseling and Ryan White services for families and individuals affected by HIV/AIDS
- Home visiting Maternal/ Child Health – high risk pregnancies and their newborns
- Public Health Home visiting
- State lab including blood draws and cultures for infectious diseases
- WIC nutrition education program
- Children's mental health service coordination through the KMA
- Clinical lab available to perform basic lab tests such as Accucheck, rapid strep, and hematocrit.
- Ability to send cultures for infectious diseases to state lab.
- Blood pressure checks
- Certified Lactation Counselors available
- Services will not be denied because of inability to pay. Personalized payment plans available upon request.
- Ability to bill most insurance plans including MUST, BCBS, EBMS, Medicaid, Medicare, and CHIP.
Where is the Hill County Health Department?
The Hill County Health Department is located in Havre, at 302 4th Avenue, on the corner of “Sunny 3rd Street”, across from the Havre-Hill County Library.
